KARACHI, Dec 15: The Mohajir Qaumi Movement chief, Afaq Ahmad, deplored apathy of the rulers towards stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh, who had been leading inhuman life for remaining loyal to Pakistan.
In a statement issued on Monday, Mr Afaq said that it was a matter of shame that while Pakistan was hosting millions of immigrants and aliens, it was not prepared to take back its own nationals.
In an indirect attack on the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Mr Afaq said that mohajirs were told in the past that whenever they come in power, they would work for the honourable return of stranded Pakistanis.
However, he alleged that they had deviated from their original commitment and were toeing the line of those who were opposed to these Pakistanis.
He said that Dec 16 was a black day in history of Pakistan and claimed that all was not well during Gen Ayub’s regime nor at present when Gen Musharraf was in power.
