ABBOTTABAD, Dec 13: At least 15 people were killed and another 31 injured on Saturday when a bus fell into a ditch near Rich Ban Village, 23km from here.

The bus (MR 4282) was on its way from Abbottabad to Rich Ban village at 12.30pm. While turning a curve near the village it went out of control of the driver, resulting in its tragic fall.

Eight people died on the spot while five more breathed their last on their way to hospital. Thirty-one passengers were admitted to Ayub Medical Complex. Of them, two succumbed to their injuries afterwards.

Some of the deceased were identified as Wali Muhammad, Jamila, Qazi Maqbool-ur-Rehman, Pervaza, Saleem, Jehanzeb, Qazi Sarwar, Salima Bibi, Zeenat, and Irshad.

An emergency was declared at the hospital.
