SADIQABAD, Dec 9: Two housing colonies of Liaquatpur are without electricity even 12 years after filing applications with Wapda.

According to residents of Jinnah Abadis of 20-A and 22-A villages, after erecting 56 electric poles in 1992, Wapda abandoned the project. In 1998, the federal ombudsman directed it to get the project completed within six months. The authority however filed a review appeal which was rejected by the ombudsman. Even after the rejection of the review appeal, Wapda authorities remained indifferent.— Correspondent
