CM’s son accused of ‘backing’ land grabbers

TIMERGARA: Residents of Chakdara have alleged that son of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister and nephew of the chief secretary are backing land grabbers in Adenzai area of Lower Dir, and demanded of the CM Pervez Khattak to take notice of the matter.

Speaking at a press conference at Chakdara on Wednesday, they alleged that Ishaq Khattak, son of the chief minister, and Saadatullah Umarzai, nephew of the chief secretary, were backing land mafia in Adenzai.

The locals said they had purchased a 17 kanal and 8 merla piece of land at Ramora Chakdara from a resident of Shamozai Swat through a sale deed of Rs30 million, which he had purchased from Dilshad Begum, a legal heir of late Nawab of Dir Shah Jehan Khan.

They said some influential people, including Aziz ur Rehman, Khurshid Ahmad and Ahmad Mohmand from Shergarh area of Mardan, had been illegally pressuring them to vacate the land. They alleged that son of the chief minister and nephew of the chief secretary had been backing these people.

The locals said that Lower Dir administration was also helpless due to intervention of chief minister’s son in the case. The Chakdara residents said they would never let anyone grab their land, and demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to stop his son from meddling in the affairs of the local people.

SUB ENGINEERS’ DEMAND: All Sub-Engineer Association, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Wednesday threatened to surround the house of PTI lawmaker from Swat, Dr Amjad, if he did not stop ‘insulting’ government officers in Swat.

Speaking at a news conference, the association’s provincial president Malik Bashir Ahmad, general secretary Mukhtiar Hussain, divisional president of All Pakistan Clerks’ Association Mohammad Shair Tajak and others alleged that Dr Amjad, who is also political adviser to chief minister, had been interfering in the affairs of government departments.

They said the lawmaker had misbehaved with a sub-engineer of the communication and works department and then transferred him. They threatened that the All Employees Coordination Council, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, would stage a sit-in in front of the lawmaker’s house at Shamozai Swat and also the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly if the legislator did not change his attitude.

They also demanded cancellation of the transfer orders of the sub-engineer.

AMBULANCE SERVICE: The Al-Khidmat Foundation on Wednesday handed over an ambulance vehicle to category-C tehsil headquarters hospital, Samarbagh.

Jamaat-i-Islami Lower Dir emir Izazul Mulk Afkari, Samarbagh tehsil nazim Saeed Ahmad Bacha and AKF district president Abdul Wadood visited the hospital and handed over the vehicle to Dr Humayun, in-charge of the facility.
