Investment pact with Kazakhstan today

ISLAMABAD, Dec 7: Pakistan and Kazakhstan will sign a bilateral investment treaty to boost their economic cooperation during President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s two-day visit beginning on Monday.

A press release of the foreign office issued here says the Kazakhstan president is visiting at the invitation of Gen Musharraf.

Mr Nazarbayev will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including Foreign Affairs Minister Kasymzhomart Tokaev, Education and Science Minister Zhaksybek Kulekeyev, Industry and Trade Minister Adllbek Jaxybekov, prominent busi- nessmen and other senior officials.

On Monday, Mr Nazarbayev will hold official talks with President Musharraf who will also host a banquet for the visiting dignitary.

The two presidents will witness the signing ceremony of a number of bilateral agreements/MoUs and will address a joint press conference.

On Tuesday, President Nazarbayev will be chief guest at the function to be held for launching of the Urdu edition of his book “Epicentre of Peace”.
