FAISALABAD, Dec 7: The inspector general of police on Sunday ordered the district police officer to take action against the people who had occupied the land of a disabled person besides kidnapping his son.
Taking notice of a news item in which Nawab Din had threatened to commit suicide, the IG directed the DPO to immediately take a legal action against the land-grabbers and furnish him a report in this regard within seven days.
The IG also asked the district coordination officer to decide the case on merit and take a legal action against the land-grabbers.
According to police, two cases had been registered against alleged landgrabber Khalid and accomplices with the Batala Colony police.
However, they were granted bail by the local courts. A civil suit between Nawab Din and the accused party is also pending with the local revenue officer.
