SWABI: The Kund Park here continues to be thronged by people during and after Eid days to enjoy the cool breeze emanating from the Rivers Indus and Kabul which meet around the place.

The park management expects the number of tourists to grow on Sunday.

Kund Park is located at the confluence of Swabi, Nowshera and Attock districts.

Officials said they had made all arrangements to receive the flood of visitors during Eid days. The security has been enhanced for the visitors and parking and other areas have been made attractive.

“We have made the Kund Park visitors-friendly for Eid days as we carried out extensive renovations,” said an official.People belonging to both Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa visited the park in large numbers.

Local people told Dawn that Kund was the only park where they visited on special occasions like Eid.

“If you want to really enjoy outing it is only possible when you come out with your family,” Waqar Ahmad of Karnal Sher Killey said, adding forbidding women from coming out was no more in vogue.

It was seen that people along with their families enjoyed the pleasant environs by eating delicious foods on the banks of the River Indus.

The youngsters were pouring in groups with special transport arrangements.

The most attractive segment for the youngsters was Pashto music where the singers were repeatedly asked to sing songs of their choice while paying them handsomely and playing with the music tone.

Shahzad Ahmad of Chota Lahor said though he loved all kinds of music Pashto music had no match.

“I love music but Pashto music is in my heart and blood,” said Abdul Wahab of Mardan district.

Asad Ali of Nowshera said that if there were no traditional Pashto music he would never visit the park.

Meanwhile, hustle and bustle was also seen at the picnic spots downstream Tarbela Dam where the people, especially those belonging to Punjab province, reached in a great numbers along with their families.
