Hyderabad board declares intermediate exam results

HYDERABAD: Girls clinched all three top positions in the pre-medical and general science groups while the other three ones in the pre-engineering group went to boys as the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Hyderabad announced results of the annual examinations-2016 of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) on Monday.

The board announced the results in the 10 districts falling under its jurisdiction, including Hyderabad, Matiari, Tando Allahyar, Tando Mohammad Khan, Jamshoro, Dadu, Thatta , Sujawal, Badin and Shaheed Benazirabad.

A programme was organised to congratulate the position holders at the board premises.

Positions holders were awarded certificates of appreciation and bouquets of flowers at the programme addressed by board officials.

The position holders expressed their strong feelings briefly and thanked their respective families and teachers.

Pre-medical group: Mahnoor Fatima of the College of Excellence for Girls, Latifabad Unit-6, Hyderabad, stood first with 949 marks out of 1,100 marks. The second position went to Aqsa of Superior College of Science, Hyderabad, who secured 944 marks while Kainat of County Girls College, Hyderabad, grabbed the third position with 942 marks.

A total of 20,796 candidates, 11,343 girls and 9,453 boys, passed their examinations. Of them 459 candidates secured A-I grade; 3,247 A grade; 6,788 B grade; 8,523 C grade; 1,754 D grade and one E grade. The pass percentage remained 80.14.

A total of 26,071 candidates were enrolled with the board while 25,951 appeared in the exams and 120 remained absent.

Science general group: Rawa Rabail and Saba of Hayat Girls College Saddar, Hyderabad, secured the first and second positions with 871 and 869 marks respectively. Hunza Ahmed of F. G. Degree College, Hyderabad Cantonment, got the third positions with 837 marks.

A total of 510 candidates, including 286 boys and 224 girls, passed their examinations. None of them obtained A-I grade while 22 candidates secured A grade, 155 B grade, 252 C grade and 81 D grade. The overall pass percentage remained 58.62.

Pre-engineering group: Faizan Ali of Government S.I. College, Hala, Matiari, clinched the first position by securing 926 marks and Muhammad Osama Basharat of Cadet College Petaro, Jamshoro, secured the second position with 923 marks while the third position went to Faraz Hassan of Superior College of Science Hyderabad with 916 marks.

A total of 17,970 candidates, including 16,235 boys and 1,735 girls, were registered in the board. Of them 17,878 appeared in the exams and 92 remained absent.
