Three killed, 10 hurt in collision

MIANWALI, Dec 2: Three people were killed, while 10 others sustained injuries, two of them serious, in a head-on collision between a speeding wagon and a truck on the Mianwali-Rawalpindi road near Musakhel, about 18 kilometres from here, on Tuesday.

An 18-seater wagon (LOK-2930) was heading towards Rawalpindi. It collided with the truck (RP-2449) loaded with potatoes in a bid to overtake a vehicle as a result of which its driver Rafiq, and passengers Nasir and Riaz, residents of Mianwali, were killed on the spot.

The injured include Ashraf, Abdul Aziz, Inayatullah, Ziaullah, Faizullah (members of a family) and Muhammadu s/o Meera, residents of Mianwali, Amir Azam of Berooli and Yaqub Baloch, resident of Layyah.

The truck driver, cleaner and the owner of potatoes fled from the scene.
