Trade deficit

NEW DELHI, Dec 2: India’s trade deficit doubled in October on surging imports as Asia’s third largest economy gathers pace and analysts expect a further widening in coming months when demand traditionally peaks.

Data released by the Commerce and Industry ministry on Tuesday showed the deficit widened to $2.02 billion from 0.94 billion a year earlier and almost $1 billion in September.—Reuters
