ISLAMABAD, Dec 1: The Arab League has welcomed the agreement reached between India and Pakistan for a ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir.
According to Radio Riyadh, an official spokesman at the Orgnization’s headquarters hoped that the cessation of cross border fire will help improve the climate in the region and greatly contribute to reducing the tension between the two neighbouring countries.
The spokesman hoped that the improvement of climate would lead to resumption of comprehensive dialogue between New Delhi and Islamabad.
He said President Pervez Musharraf in a statement, earlier, had announced that Pakistan had lifted the ban on the Indian planes in its skies.—APP
