LAHORE, Nov 30: Lahore District Council (Labour) member Mohammad Akbar has supported the demands of minority councillors for the allocation of development funds and payment of honorarium.

The LDC member said in a statement the councillors elected on special seats had equal voting rights like general councillors, but were discriminated against during the allocation of development funds and payment of honorarium.

He said the government should treat these councillors at par with the general councillors because they were also members of the same house in which the general councillors were sitting. He said their demands for allocation of funds and honorarium should be accepted.
