Minor boy burnt alive as car catches fire

TOBA TEK SINGH: A four-year-old boy was burnt alive while his father and mother received serious burn injuries when their car caught fire after an accident near Gojra on Friday.

Nawan Lahore police said Iftikhar Ahmad of Bahawalpur was on his way to a Gojra village by car along with his wife, Rehana Bibi, and son Abdul Manan. When they reached near Chak-348 JB on Gojra-Mochiwala Road, their car smashed into a roadside tree due to speeding and caught fire. Resultantly, all three received serious burn injuries.

They were rushed to Gojra THQ Hospital where Manan died, while his father and mother were referred to Faisalabad’s Allied Hospital in a critical condition.

Separately, a woman died and two men were injured seriously in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Kamalia on Kamalia-Toba Road.

Police said the accident took place near a grid station where Mumtaz Bibi of Chak 270-GB died on the spot, while Abdul Rashid and Umer Hayat were admitted to the Kamalia THQ Hospital.
