The balloon boy

This is with reference to the story “The balloon boy” by Shafaq Rizvi (YW, June 4). The story was nice as it taught us an important lesson about how one perceives others. Usually we think negatively and don’t have positive views about others, which is totally wrong.

My advice to all the readers of YW is to think positively about everyone and never treat anyone negatively.

Apart from that, another important lesson in the story was of hard work.

The key to success is hard work which every child should learn; giving fake reasons not only makes your image bad but others will also lose trust on you.

So it is better to learn from your mistakes and always work hard.

Three clever chicks

This is with reference to the story “Three clever chicks” by Zara Naz (YW, June 25). The story was very nice and gave the lesson to always be kind even with the one who is evil with you so that bad people learn the lesson of peace and love.

Assumptions

This is with reference to the story “Assumptions” by Ayesha Sahar Mirza (YW, June 11). I agree with the writer’s views that people often look down upon those living in slums; while the fact is that no one wants to live in dirty slums, it is just because of poverty that people do so.

Not all of them become thugs or criminals. Poor people need attention and sympathy from those who can afford to give them as much as they can.

I appreciate the YW team that it publishes stories that give kids good lessons about living the right way.

Why fathers matter

This is regarding the cover article “Why fathers matter” by Talat Naz (YW, June 18). It was nice to read how other kids feel for their fathers.

To me, my father is the ultimate source of power and protection. I fight, I cuddle and I get angry with my dad and he is always smiling on my little stupidities because he knows I am his child and I own him like he owns me. A father and child relation is very beautiful.

II

The article “Why fathers matter” by Talat Naz reminded me of my late father. And I really miss him. I wish he was alive so that I could also tell him how much he means to me, how secure and happy I felt in his presence. May everyone’s fathers have a long life and stay healthy.
