PESHAWAR, Nov 25: The NWFP Governor, Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah, has underscored the need for unity and cohesion among all segments of the society to ensure a better future for the country and enable the people to enjoy development and prosperity.
In a message of felicitation on the eve of Eidul Fitr, the governor while congratulating the countrymen, particularly the people of NWFP and its adjoining tribal areas, said: “The month of Ramazan teaches us the lesson of piety, patience and tolerance, whereas Eid which comes immediate after it is a reward to the faithful for fasting the entire holy month for seeking blessings of Allah Almighty.”
It is, he added, also a renewal of pledge to the effect that the habit of controlling the personal desires and ambitions strengthened during the holy month of Ramazan would continue for the rest of the year as well.
In fact, the governor said, one actually felt the real happiness of Eid when he also includes the people around him in these moments of joy and jubilation.
This was the real message, which the Islam taught us and in fact what needed was to include the poor in our happiness and this objective could only be achieved on the occasion of Eidul Fitr.
