PML-N man sent to jail on judicial remand

SHEIKHUPURA, Nov 23: PML-N leader Javed Latif, who was arrested on Saturday, has been sent to the district jail on a 14-day judicial remand.

According to an FIR registered with the B Division police, the PML-N leader had delivered a provocative speech against President Gen Musharraf at a meeting held at the residence of Advocate Rai Mohammed Hayat, a local party leader, on Nov 12.

DIES ON ROAD: A labourer was killed and his brother injured in a road accident near Kharianwala here on Sunday.

Two brothers — Amjad and Nawaz — were on their way home on a bicycle when a speeding bus hit them near Kharianwala. Amjad died instantly while Nawaz sustained critical injuries and was taken to hospital.

Both the brothers were employed at a textile mills located on the Faisalabad Road.
