Australian held in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Nov 23: British forces in southern Iraq have detained an Australian man for association with suspected Saddam Hussein loyalists and posing a threat to coalition forces, a military spokeswoman said on Sunday.

“An Australian national of Iraqi descent was arrested recently and has been interned,” the spokeswoman for British-led coalition forces in southern Iraq said.—Reuters
