KARACHI, Nov 22: Medium pacer Nasir Khan finished with match haul of ten wickets as Defence Housing Authority’s (DHA) three-day match in Patron’s Trophy final league match against PIA ended in a tame draw at the National Stadium on Saturday.
Left-arm Nasir followed his five for 133 in PIA first innings with five wicket 88 runs in 32 overs to return with match figures of ten for 221.
PIA resuming at overnight score of 92 for two wicket were bowled out for 204 in their second innings. They scored 312 for nine in their first innings.
Ghulam Ali top-scored for airlines with 68 with nine boundaries and Bazid Khan scored 33. They added 95 runs for third wicket. Nasir got support from fellow medium pacer Omair Hasan, who finished with four wickets for 74 in 32.2 overs.
Opener Saquib Zia cracked an enterprising 61 with 11 hits to the ropes in DHA second outing. Wajid Ali made 35 with five boundaries. Medium pacer Fazle Akber again bowled a sustained spell to take three wickets for 41 runs in 11 overs.
PIA ended their pool “A” league outing with 39 points with four wins and two draws while DHA managed 27 points in six matches.
PIA and Pakistan Customs qualified for Patron’s Trophy first class circuit starting next month.

KESC earn points
Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) secured three points for the first innings lead as their three-day final league round game against Pak PWD petered out in a dull draw.
Daniyal Ahsan struck his second half century of the match for the KESC as they made 114 for two wickets after set 232 to win the match. Daniyal scored 56 in the first and 51 in second innings.
PWD made 218 in their first innings and were dismissed for 261 in their second innings with skipper Ahmer Saeed smashing brilliant 89. KESC scored 248 in their first innings.
Both KESC and Pak PWD failed to qualify for the Patron’s Trophy proper.

PESHAWAR: Naveed Latif’s brilliant knock of 195 enabled PTCL to drub Pakistan Ordinance Factory (POF), Wah, by an innings and 64 runs.
Naved required only 189 balls for his 196 and struck 18 fours and four sixes.
