Three killed in Baltistan

SKARDU, Nov 19: Three persons including a child died in different incidents in Baltistan, sources said here on Tuesday.

Akhond Muhammad Baqir, resident of village Machulu (Ghanche district), was killed when a Toyota jeep fell into a ravine near Machulu while the other passengers remained safe.

The victim was a shopkeeper and travelling from Khaplu to Machulu carrying marchandise. The reason of the accident is stated to be driver’s carelessness.

In another incident, Ghulam, resident of Hushey (Ghanche), was found dead in a hut.

According to sources, he had gone to a nearby mountain to graze animals, but did not come back home. On searching, his relatives found Ghulam’s body next day in a hut on the mountain. The reason could not be ascertained.

In the third accident, a 10-year-old boy was electrocuted in village Katpana here. He was playing with an electric water pump.
