DADU, Nov 19: The sanitation staff of the Taluka Municipal Administration, Dadu, boycotted their work, stopped water supply to all localities and held a demonstration here on Wednesday to protest against the non-payment of their salaries for the last three months.
They were led by the president, employees union of the Taluka Municipal Administration, Dadu, Bashir Ahmed Solangi.
Speaking to the demonstrators, Bashir Ahmed Solangi, said that the Taluka Municipal Administration had not paid the salaries to the sanitation staff for the last three months so the employees were unable to purchase food, clothes and other items for Eid for their family members.
He said that the Taluka Municipal Administration had also not paid Eid bonus to the employees.
He said that if the administration did not pay them salaries and bonus, they would continue their struggle.
DEMO: A large number of inhabitants of Patt Sharif, Kalari, Haitam Jatoi, Mohammad Khan Khushik, Sher Mohammad Solangi, Maundar and 20 other villages of Taluka Dadu held a demonstration outside the office of the EDO, education, Dadu, on Wednesday to protest against the closing of mosque schools in their villages.
They were led by Rustam and Ismail Ahmed.
Speaking to the demonstrators, Rustam said that due to closing of the mosque schools, religious education had been affected in the villages.
They appealed to the district Nazim, Malik Asad Sikandar, and the EDO, education, to have the mosque schools opened.
TWO ARRESTED: A police party of the Dadu town police, led by the SHO, Inspector Ghulam Murtaza Memon, raided a Karachi-bound coach at the new bus stand, Dadu, arrested two men, Shahmeer and Shoaib, and seized 12 kgs of charas from their possession on Wednesday.
GAMBLING: The police raided a gambling den in the Housing Society here the other day and arrested seven gamblers. They seized playing cards and Rs20,000 from their possession.
