KARACHI, Nov 18: Pakistan Bridge Federation (PBF) on Tuesday expressed their disappointment over the performance of Pakistan team in Bermuda Bowl World Bridge Championship.
“We lack modernization and other teams are far ahead of us,” secretary PBF Tariq Rasheed Khan said on return from Monte Carlo (Monaco).
He said there was a huge difference in standard of Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle East (BFAME) and Bermuda Bowl.
PBF official said Pakistan was well prepared before its departure for Monte Carlo but unable to produce their best on table. Pakistan finished 19th in 22-team competition.
He said besides lagging behind in overall standard, Pakistan also lacked in professionalism and other related infrastructure.
Tariq disclosed that they have brought computer deal system from Monte Carlo and players will be trained on the new system. Besides bridge theme will also be launched for raising overall standard in sport.
PBA official said participation in the Bermuda Bowl, Venice Cup and Senior Championship was a great experience and exposure for Pakistan contingent.
Tariq said next Bermuda Bowl will be held in Bali (Indonesia). —APP
