KHAIRPUR, Nov 18: A row between the district Nazim, Khairpur, Nafisa Shah, and her rival group continues as the local government department has failed to resolve the dispute.
Despite sealing of the District Council hall and office of the district Naib Nazim by the district Nazim, the rival group held a meeting of the District Council on Tuesday by breaking the locks of the hall. It was attended by the members of the rival group only.
The meeting was presided over by Abdul Aziz Bhambhro, a member of the panel of presiding officers.
It discussed ADP schemes passed in the previous session of the council held on Oct 1. The members also discussed the law and order situation in the district.
This was the first session conducted by members of the Khairpur Dost Panel.
Journalists were shown the roll which contained signatures of 52 members out of 102. Only one member from the Awam Dost Panel, Parvez Rajpar, Union Council Pakka Chang, attended the meeting.
The council rejected the ADP schemes approved by the council members in the previous meeting terming that the previous allocation of schemes was unjust as schemes were allocated mainly to the ruling group’s members.
Some of the Nazims said that the row between the district Nazim and the DPO, Khairpur, has resulted in deterioration of the law and order situation in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, Wali Dino Bhatti, Nazim Union Council Gambat-II, said that the law and order situation in the area was unsatisfactory as none of the accused responsible for the killing of Chakrani and Lashari tribesmen had been arrested.
The Nazim, Union Council Kot Laloo, Mr Naqeer said that 10 theft cases were registered in his Union Council but no accused was arrested.
The members criticized the district Nazim, Khairpur, Nafisa Shah, for sealing the office of the district Naib Nazim and District Council hall.
