KARACHI, Nov 17: The Trading Corporation of Pakistan has decided to float a fresh tender for purchase of 84,000 tons of sugar on November 20.
According to a TCP announcement here on Monday, the Corporation finally accepted the lowest bid given by Shakarganj Sugar Mills at Rs15,543 per ton for 16,000 tons of sugar on Saturday.
The TCP had then asked other bidders to match the lowest bid. In response on Monday, 13 mills regretted, whereas five mills did not respond. Three mills, however, responded with a revised Rs16,520 per ton for a total quantity of 19,000 tons and did not match the lowest bid.
The Corporation, therefore, has decided to float fresh tenders with same terms and conditions.—APP
