Ban on Islami Tehrik won’t affect MMA

SAHIWAL, Nov 16: MMA’s deputy secretary-general Liaquat Baloch said on Sunday that the ban on Islami Tehrik would not affect the alliance.

Talking to this correspondent by telephone, he said that President Pervez Musharraf was banning the organizations on the direction of the US president.

According to him, Allama Sajid Naqvi was arrested in the murder case of Maulana Azam Tariq. The decision to launch protest movement against the government would be taken at the Karachi meeting of the MMA on Nov 17.

He said that no talks would be held with the government on the LFO issue.
