Police registers dacoity case after 13 months

GUJRANWALA, Nov 16: Naushera Virkan police on Sunday registered a dacoity case after 13 months of the incident.

Reports said four outlaws, including Basharat and Talib, entered the house of Abdul Rehman Jatt and held hostage the inmates at gunpoint. They escaped after collecting jewellery and dowry from the house.

The police reportedly did not register a case against the accused.

The complainant approached the high-ups, and on their direction the police registered a dacoity case after 13 months.

This was stated by MMA central leader and Jamaat-i-Islami secretary-general Syed Munawwer Hasan while speaking at a Shabab-i-Milli meeting here on Sunday.

CAUGHT: At least two dozen citizens were caught red-handed while stealing electricity for domestic and commercial purposes in different parts of the city on Sunday

On a tip-off, a joint raiding team of the Gepco and the military intelligence raided various houses and trade centres and found around two dozen consumers for stealing electricity after tampering with their metres.

The raiding team issued them heavy detection bills besides registering power theft cases against them.
