PBF condoles coach Agha Arshad’s death
KARACHI: Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBF) president retired Brig Rashid Malik has condoled the sudden demise of national coach and former international Agha Arshad at Lahore on Monday.
In a statement, he said Arshad suffered severe chest pain and was died while on way to hospital. He was 63.
Applauding his (Arshad’s) contribution to the game the PBF chief said the deceased was coach of the current national team that toured India for the South Asian Games. Besides, he featured in Asian Games, Asian Basketball Championships in addition to couple of foreign tours with the national team, he added.
He said Arshad, who was an active player of Lahore’s Brothers Club, retired from Customs appraisement approximately three years back.
Malik termed the demise as a great loss to the game and prayed to Allah to give the soul rest in peace and give courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
