HYDERABAD, Nov 14: Awami Tehrik chief Rasool Bux Palijo in a statement here on Friday demanded of the government to advance interest free loans to growers repayable in easy instalments for the purchase of seed, fertilizers and other agricultural inputs.
He said the agriculture sector of Sindh had already been destroyed due to a shortage of water, absence of marketing system and low prices of crops.
Mr Palijo said the agriculture and other banks had unleashed a reign of terror against the growers to recover their loans.
He called upon the federal and provincial governments to stop the recovery of loans and take necessary step to exempt the growers from payment of loans as they had no money to pay.
