Hazara Varsity VC named

PESHAWAR, Oct 12: Prof Ashraf Adeel, director, Institute of Education  and Research (IER), Peshawar University, has been appointed as vice-chancellor of the newly established Hazara University.

According to a notification of the NWFP government, Prof Adeel has been appointed with immediate effect as the VC the Hazara University in Dhodial, Mansehra.

Prof Adeel got his PhD in Philosophy from University of Hawai, USA. He has a 23 years teaching experience.

Our Mansehra Correspondent adds: District Nazim of Mansehra, Azam Khan Swati, said here on Wednesday that he had collected around Rs30.5 million from two Pakistan-based NGOs working in USA for the establishment of Hazara university and added that this university would be affiliated with the Preston University in USA.

He was speaking at a big public gathering, which also included representatives of local bodies of Mansehra, on his return from a visit to the US.

He said that around 700,000 Muslims in America were in big trouble and passing through very difficult time.
