SRINAGAR, Nov 13: An Indian soldier was killed in an ambush, while troops shot dead two freedom fighters during a gunbattle, police said on Thursday.

“Militants ambushed an army patrol with AK rifles and grenades during the evening hours (of Wednesday) killing a soldier on the spot,” a spokesman said.

Meanwhile, Indian troops killed two freedom fighters who had barricaded themselves inside a residence in the Saloora village, 35km from here, police said.—AFP
