HYDERABAD, Nov 13: The Sindh Agriculture University Teachers Association has sought the intervention of the governor in a university matter, expressing concern over the misuse of powers by the controller of examinations.

In a communication addressed to the Sindh governor on Nov 11, the president of the association, Ali Nawaz Leghari, has invited his attention to the case of an MSc pass student who had been declared as bogus.

The SAUTA president said Zakia Mangrio, who had obtained 92.21 per cent marks, was issued pass and marks certificates in May this year after completing formalities.

He said when she applied for declaration of her position on July 1, the administration declared her case bogus.

Referring to the examination remuneration bill, Mr Leghari alleged that controller was selective and only those received the remuneration on time who were close to him or on one or the other ground.

He said that if the record was checked, it would reveal that the remuneration was not paid to a majority of the teachers who performed examination duties in in June, August and September

CONTROLLER’S VERSION: A spokesman of the controller of examinations claimed that no injustice had been done with the student but some teachers were trying to destroy the university.

In a statement, he accused the teachers of inefficiency and alleged while students were given 80 per cent marks in the theory examination, they were declared fail in the practical examinations.

ISRA: The Isra School of Paramedics, Isra University, has announced the results of admission test to paramedical courses held on Nov 1. Sixty two boy and 15 girl candidates were declared successful.
