KARACHI, Nov 13: The additional district and sessions judge, East, Abdul Malick, sentenced an extortionist to suffer rigorous imprisonment for four and half years.
Muhammed Ali was booked and arrested by the Brigade police on January 17, 1999 on the complaint of Salim Memon, general secretary of the shopkeepers’ association at the Rainbow Centre.
The judge imposed a fine of Rs500 on the convict, who would have to undergo an additional one-month term in case of default on the payment.
