HYDERABAD, Nov 11: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Tuesday summoned the Bandhi SHO on Nov 17 and issued a notice to the Sindh AAG on a petition, seeking registration of a case against police officials.

Ali Sher Shar had filed the constitutional petition, citing the Sindh home secretary, IGP, Sukkur DIGP, Nawabshah DPO, Bandhi SHO Murtaza Rahu and others as respondents.

The petitioner said he was a supporter of the People’s Party Parliamentarian and his rivals belonged to the Pakistan Muslim League-Q.

He said at the insistence of his rivals, the respondent SHO with other policemen entered his house on the night of Oct 25 without any search or arrest warrant.

He said the police beat up his son, Abdullah, 20, and when his mother rushed to save him they also abused her.

He said the police took away Rs53,000 cash and gold necklaces and rings. He said the police also resorted to aerial firing.

The petitioner told the court the area Nazim contacted the Jam Sahab and Bandhi police stations but both denied having conducted the raid.

He said no case was either registered against his son at the Bandhi police station or pending in any court of law.

He prayed the court to the direct the police authorities to register an FIR against the policemen and restrain them from implicating him in false cases.
