KARACHI, Nov. 9: Bazid Khan and Moin Khan smashed quickfire centuries to power PIA to 428 for six wickets in their first innings on the second day in their Patron’s Trophy qualifying round against Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) at the National Stadium here on Sunday.
PIA took a massive 297 first innings lead by scoring a mammoth score in reply to the KESC first innings total of 131. By stumps on the second day in three-day match, KESC were 102 for three wickets in their second innings.
Faraz Patel and Arif Mahmood with 32 and 27 runs were at the crease when played ended for the day. KESC still needed 95 runs to avoid an innings defeat with seven wickets intact.
Bazid Khan hit 26 blistering boundaries and a six off 220 balls and Pakistan reject Moin Khan blasted 14 boundaries and four towering 6s off just 95 balls batting.
PIA piled their runs with two century stands revolving Bazid. Bazid son of former Pakistan captain and opening batsman Majid Khan put on 144 runs for the third wicket with Kamran Sajid (36) and later with skipper Moin Khan, he shared a rapid 182 runs for the fourth wicket partnership in 111 minutes to plunder KESC mediocre bowling attack.

Defence Housing Authority (DHA) took a 72 runs first innings lead against Pak PWD at Quaid-i-Azam Park Steel Township Ground.
PWD were dismissed for 278 in 73.2 overs in their first innings in response to DHA first innings score of 350 for nine wickets. At draw of stump DHA were 15 for the loss of Saqib Zia for three.
Saad Wasim and Imran Muhammad son of former Pakistan opening batsman Sadiq Muhammad hit half centuries. Saad hit 75 off 93 balls while occupying the crease for 145 minutes and it contained five 4s and a six.
Imran, dropped on four by Saqib Zia in slip off Nasir Khan for four went to make 63 with five boundaries. Imran batted for 212 minutes and faced 155 deliveries. Saad and Imran added 81 runs for the fourth wicket.
Left arm paceman Nasir Khan and off-break bowler Muzzafar Hussain caused the main damage in PWD batting. Nasir snapped up four wickets for 94 runs in 27 overs and Muzzafar claimed four wickets for 64 runs in 17.2 overs.
