NOWSHERA, Nov 9: Three persons, including two Afghan refugees, were shot dead in two separate incidents in Nowshera district on Saturday.

The police said Rahmdad was ambushed by Roohul Amin and Razul Amin as he was on his way to his to the Faqir Mohammad Khan mosque in Kheshgi Payan on the Charsadda Road after Iftar.

Both the accused escaped after the incident.

Ashraf Khan, father of the murdered man, told the police that his son had quarrelled with the accused before Iftar.

In a similar incident, two Afghan refugees, Khudadad and Rahim, killed one another over the purchase of an Afghan girl in the Azakhel refugee camp on the G.T. Road. Both were cousins and their relatives refused to register a case. Their bodies were taken to Afghanistan without any postmortems.

ACCIDENT: More than 10 persons were injured in a traffic pile up a few minutes before Iftar on the Nowshera-Mardan Road.

The injured were identified as Lieut Col Haroon Rasheed, Ft Lt Adil, two residents of Mansehra Sabir Sultan and Yaqoob and Tamash Khan. The injured were shifted to the CMH Risalpur, CMH Nowshera, district headquarters hospital Nowshera.

The drivers and helpers of the pick-ups fled from the scene.
