MIRPURKHAS, Dec 28: A case has been registered against ex- engineer, irrigation, Nusrat sub-divisions, Manzoor Magsi, SDO, Ali Muhammad Memon, Zulfiqar Khoso Zahid Memon and Darogha Dhani Bux.
The case was registered on the directives of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad Circuit Bench, on Thursday.
The complainant, Taj Muhammad Dahri, said that in Feb 2001, abadgars and zamindars including him were not provided their due water share by the irrigation officials.
They met the deputy commissioner, Sanghar, who constituted a committee comprising the complainant Mukhtiarkar Shahdadpur and Ghulam Nabi Brohi to monitor the rotation programme. He added that during the checking of rotation, the committee found that the distries which had been closed in rotation programme, were open, while the distries shown as opened in the programme were found closed.
He said that the irrigation officials retaliated this move and started disturbing the growers by not supplying water to them or deliberately creating breach in the Nusrat canal by cutting bank at 68 Mori and lodging false FIR on charges of developing breach in the Nusrat canal, which was later found false in the inquiry conducted by the then DC, Nawabshah.
POLICE: A case has been lodged against former SHO, Sanghar, Ghulam Sarwar Panhwar, and ASI, Abdul Jabbar Bhurgari, on charges of lodging false case against two villagers, and misusing the powers.
On March 22, with connivance of one Muhammad Aslam Qureshi, the accused had registered an FIR with Sanghar police station against Mohib Ahmed Shar and Muhammad Amin Awan. They were arrested.
The SSP, Sanghar, after receiving information, ordered the DSP headquarter to conduct inquiry into the matter. It was found that villagers were implicated in false case.
