ABBOTTABAD, Nov 8: The district government has launched a campaign against the public transport and set Nov 10 as the deadline for their owners to put their documents in order.

A meeting of transporters and traffic staff was held under the chairmanship of Barrister Javed Abbasi, the Naib Nazim of Abbottabad district, on Friday.

The naib nazim said the district government had taken this step after different road accidents, especially the recent one near Havelian where at least 24 precious lives were lost. In most of the cases, buses and wagons were not found to be fit to run on the road.—Correspondent
