LARKANA, Dec 28: The district council on Thursday tabled a proposal calling on expediting the municipal recoveries seeking police assistance.

It was decided that a four members committee headed by the district coordination officer, SSP, Amir Bakhsh Gaad, the chief whip of Awamdost panel, and Badar Abbasi, would look into the matter and finalize the proposal within a week.

A portion of the recovered amount would be deposited in the police welfare trust, the house decided.

Nazir Ahmed Bughio chaired the second day’s proceedings where Khari Muhammed Shaikh, Nazim of the union council-10, tabled a resolution asking the house to call on the government to withdraw all bogus cases against Benazir Bhutto.

The house later passed the resolution where the members of opposition did not participate in the voting.

Through another resolution the house expressed its concern over the encroachments on the graveyards in the city and lamented over routing the drainage water there.

ACCIDENT: Six persons were injured in a road accident near Mohenjodaro on Thursday.

A Mohenjodaro-bound bus overturned as the driver lost control over its steering, injuring six passengers.

The injured were identified as, Ali Hassan, son of Sachal, Hakim Ali, son of Anwer Ali, Muhammed Ramzan, son of Muhammed Bachal, Ms Sughran, Mehboob Ali and Ms Hameda.

They were admitted in the Chandka Medical College Teaching Hospital after receiving first aid at the Taluka hospital, Dokri.

INJURED: Two unidentified armed men on Thursday shot at and injured Imdad Ali Larik in Lahori mohalla and escaped.

The attack was the outcome of old enmity, police sources said.

KILLED: Unidentified robbers on Friday shot dead a motorcyclist in the jurisdiction of Drigh police station.

The robbers intercepted the motorcyclist Mohammed Khan Brohi and his friend Nabi Bakhsh Brohi near Warah bridge. They asked him to hand over the keys of the motorcycle but he resisted on which they pumped bullets in his body and fled leaving him dead.

Nabi Bakhsh who remained unhurt reported the incident to Drigh police.
