SANGHAR, Nov 7: Three men who are in police custody in the murder case of Shazia Khaskheli and Mohammad Hassan Solangi recorded their statements in the court of the judicial magistrate here on Thursday.

The men, Mohammad Ishaq Khaskheli, Inayat Jalalani and Asghar Rajput, were brought to the court amid tight security with faces covered with cloth.

Mr Ishaq, son of Nikah Khawan Maulvi Gul Mohammad, deposed before magistrate Mohammad Shujaat Mirza that three days before the murder of the couple, Huzoor Bukhsh Khaskheli came to him and asked for a fake Nikahnama. He said he gave him a blank sheet from the Nikahnama book.

He said Huzoor Bux returned the sheet to him with signatures of Shazia, her father, Mir Hassan Khaskheli, and himself.

He admitted that he had signed the Nikahnama without taking his father into confidence and also put a date of eight months back.

Mr Jalalani, a resident of a village near Jhol, told the court the couple had stayed at his house one day before their killing.

He said the next day, he left for his duty and instructed his brother to arrange a taxi for the couple.

Taxi car driver Rajput said the brother of Mr Jalalani came to him on Oct 8 and said two persons were to be taken to Sanghar.

He said he took the couple to Sanghar and when they reached near the district council building, the man (Hassan Solangi) asked him to turn towards the DPO office.

He said when they were heading towards the office they were intercepted by three motorcycles and a car also reached there in the meantime.

He said the people who had intercepted them ordered him to bow down. He said he was then blindfolded and later left on the Sanghar-Mirpurkhas road with instructions not to tell anything to anybody.
