SHIKARPUR: Five judges posts lying vacant

SHIKARPUR, Nov 7: Lawyers of the district on Thursday demanded that judges should be appointed against five vacant posts at different local courts.

They said posts of district and sessions judge, fifth additional sessions judge, second senior civil judge, civil judge, Khanpur, and civil judge, Garhi Yasin, were laying vacant due to which litigants were facing many problems.

They appealed to the Chief Justice Sindh High Court for action.

KILLED: A girl, Noor Bibi, 8, daughter of Ghulam Shabbir Shar, was killed when a Peshawar-bound truck (UAE-337) hit her near the Aslam Arain Mill Khanpur on the Shikarpur-Kandhkot road on Thursday.

The parents and villagers blocked the Kandhkot road for half an hour which was reopened for vehicular traffic on police assurance that the driver would be punished.

The Khanpur police have arrested the truck driver, Noor Illahi Pathan.
