LAHORE: The PPP held a demonstration outside the Governor’s House demanding ‘arrest’ of PTI Chairman Imran Khan for his ‘confession’ that terrorists were provided with medical treatment at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital.
Holding placards and banners the PPP activists led by Lahore Information Secretary Faisal Mir chanted slogans against the government for having double standards over terrorism.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mir said Imran Khan in a talk show disclosed that he received appreciation letters from ‘top Taliban leaders’ for providing treatment to their militants.
He said the federal investigation agencies should confiscate the medical record of the terrorist mentioned by Imran Khan in his interview.
He urged the authorities concerned to arrest Imran Khan without any delay and a 90-day remand should be taken for interrogation under the law.
He said Mr Khan had earlier declared Taliban his ‘disgruntled brothers’; therefore the government should not shy away from investigating him. President Zone-154 Dr. Zarrar Yusaf said had the PPP leaders confessed facilitation of terrorist like Imran Khan did, he or she would have been arrested by now under NAP.
The participants also held a candle-lit vigil in connection with the death anniversary of Salman Taseer and paid him rich tribute.
