DHAKA, Nov 2: Bangladesh and Sri Lanka on Sunday concluded initial talks, agreeing in principle to strike in about one year a bilateral free trade agreement (FTA), which will go into effect immediately after the signing of the relevant documents.

At the two-day meeting, Dhaka wanted the issue of special and differential treatment relevant for Bangladesh as a least developed country (LDC) to be accommodated in the proposed FTA.
