FM to visit Belgium, UK from tomorrow

ISLAMABAD, Nov 1: Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri will visit the United Kingdom and Belgium from Nov 3 to 6 to discuss with his counterparts the regional situation and bilateral relations.

The minister will be in the United Kingdom on Nov 3 and 4 and will then proceed to Brussels to meet Belgian and European Union officials on Nov 5 and 6.

In the UK, he will hold consultations with Foreign Minister Jack Straw on bilateral relations, Pakistan-India dialogue, the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation’s summit, Kashmir, Afghanistan, the Commonwealth, terrorism, non-proliferation and other issues.

Mr Kasuri will meet members of the House of Commons’ foreign affairs select committee and the UK-Pakistan parliamentary group.

He will hold talks with the foreign secretary, the secretary of state for international development, the foreign policy advisor to the prime minister and the minister of state for trade and industry.

In Belgium, the foreign minister will meet EU officials and parliamentarians. He will meet the chairman of the foreign relations committee of the European Parliament.—APP
