Eight die in Panjgur accident

QUETTA, Dec 26: Eight people, including three women, were killed and three others injured when a passenger coach collided head-on with an oil tanker near Panjgur, some 600 kilometres south-west of here, on Tuesday.

Officials of the local administration rushed to the site of the accident and removed the injured and the bodies to the local hospital. The condition of the three injured is stated to be serious.

According to police sources, a Panjgur-bound passenger coach with 50 passengers coming from Karachi collided with an oil tanker on a sharp turn near Panjgur.

Eight people died on the spot while three others received serious injuries.

Those killed in the accident have been identified as Fazal Mohammad, Nasarullah, Haji Abdul Rasheed, Haji Mohammad, Rasheed Ahmed, Sumeera Bibi, Shaista Bibi and Maharaj Bibi. Nasarullah was an Iranian national.

The injured have been identified as Allah Bukhsh, Abdul Rauf and Asmat Bibi. Panjgur police have registered a case against the driver of the oil tanker.
