Grievances redressed

LAHORE, Oct 29: The Punjab Baitul Maal, Zakat and Usher departments have redressed the grievances of complainants regarding grant of financial assistance on the orders of Punjab Ombudsman Justice Sajjad Ahmad Sipra (retired).

Sadia Zameer had submitted an application to the chairman of the Lahore district Zakat and Usher Committee for financial grant out of Zakat rehabilitation package as her father was a disabled man and could not earn livelihood.

She said the department had not so far processed the case despite repeated requests. She had also approached the authorities concerned but to no avail.

Liaquat Ali said that he was a disabled person but the chairman of the Kasur district Zakat and Usher committee had not processed his case for financial grant.

Anwar Sultana said that her four daughters, who were studying in the Government Girls Middle School, Hadyara, were entitled to receive scholarship. But the Lahore District Baitul Maal Committee did not issue a sum of Rs1,200 for each of her daughters.
