LAHORE, Oct 29: Four people, including a lawyer, were reportedly murdered on Wednesday in different parts of the city.
Advocate Aqeel Ismail (34) of Mozang left his house on Tuesday evening and did not return last night. All efforts to trace him ended in smoke. The police said they found a yellow cab parked near a bridge in Ghaziabad. The body of the lawyer, who had been subjected to torture and then strangled, was lying on its rear seat.
A man was shot dead allegedly by his elder brother over a property dispute in Sattukatla.
The police said Muhammad Munir informed them on telephone that his brother had been shot dead by robbers on resistance. On reaching there, they found Sadiq (40) lying in a pool of blood.
On suspicion, Munir was taken into custody and interrogated. The police claimed Munir came clean of killing his brother over the property dispute. The deceased is survived by a wife and two children. His body was shifted to the city mortuary.
A passerby, Shaukat Ali (22), was shot dead in a crossfire between two groups at Mohallah Samiaan in Bhati Gate.
According to police, Baba and Shahbaz exchanged fire with Sajid Ali of their rival group. Shaukat, who was passing through the street, got a bullet injury. He was taken to Mayo Hospital where he died. His body was shifted to mortuary for autopsy.
An elderly woman was shot dead over an eve-teasing issue at Habib Park in Harbanspura.
A case has been instituted with no arrest.
