KARACHI, Oct 29: Trade union activist Javed Shakoor, who was the first to be publicly flogged in the city during Gen Zia’s rule, died on Wednesday. He was 62.
Mr Shakoor, who was associated with the Forum for Democracy, is survived by his widow, two sons and two daughters.
He was hit and injured by a moving vehicle in Nazimabad area a few days back. He was taken to various hospitals and finally succumbed to the head injuries on Wednesday. He was buried in Yasinabad graveyard.
