KOHAT, Dec 26: The military authorities have deployed women police staff alongside army personnel at more than a dozen checkposts between Kohat and Parachinar to mount the manhunt for the fleeing Al Qaeda activists.
A decision has also been taken with regard to deploying women police at checkpoints inside the tribal territory after the tribesmen objected to checking of veil-clad women by the male staff of the law enforcement agencies.
The decision has been made to check all women commuters travelling between Kohat and Parachinar so that the Al-Qaeda men, who have fled Afghanistan and are reportedly hiding in the mountainous region along the Pakistan Afghan border, might not escape in the guise of women.
