SWABI, Oct 27: The provincial government has approved Rs2 million for the development of Hund.
Official sources told Dawn on Monday that the development work would be carried out under the auspices of provincial archaeological department.
The sources said that Hund was a rich archaeological site in the district and the government had given top priority to its development to promote tourism in the province.
Situated on the right bank of Indus river, about 50 kilometers from Attock Bridge, Hund is a centre of Gandhara civilization.
The sources said that objective of the development plan was to preserve cultural and historical values, and secure materials for the proposed museum at Hund.
The sources informed that excavation of Hund was conducted in 1996.
