SUKKUR, Oct 23: Bachat bazaars will be held in the district’s four talukas during Ramazan to provide consumer goods to the people at subsidized rates.

This was decided at a meeting at the DCO office here on Thursday.

The meeting also decided to give magisterial powers to deputy district officers to uphold the sanctity of the month.

A committee was formed to fix rates of consumer goods like meat, fish, pulses, vegetables, wheat flour, milk, rice and fruit.

It was decided that the police would be deployed in front of mosques and Imambargahs during prayers.

The meeting directed Hesco officials against resorting to loadshedding, besides asking officials concerned to ensure regular gas and water supply.

The market committee was asked to establish its complaint office at the Clock Tower and shopkeepers were directed to display the price list.
