HARIPUR, Oct 22: More than 30 students of a private intermediate college have been suspended for a week by the college administration.

According to sources, students of the pre-engineering group of the Jinnah Jameh College, Haripur, had complained about missing their credit hours for chemistry and physics due to shortage of the teaching staff.  

When the college administration failed to address the problem, parents of some students approached the press, as a result of which the college suspended 35 students for one week.

Students, who also approached the DCO and tehsil Nazim Haripur, staged a protest against the attitude of the college administration.

Parents of a student told Dawn  that they were paying heavy fees and additional funds every year but the administration failed to fulfil its obligations and instead chose to punish students.

Some parents also expressed their dissatisfaction over the facilities available at the college.
